Individual Membership

Individual membership to ZANE is free and open to all zoo/aquarium professionals, including self advocates, allies, students, retirees and vendors who work with zoos and aquariums

 

THREE REASONS to JOIN ZANE

 

THE NETWORK: The zoo and aquarium world is made up of amazingly passionate, kind and altruistic professionals united in the mission of saving wildlife and serving community. ZANE will connect you with other zoological professionals who are dedicated to making the zoo and aquarium world more inclusive and accommodating. Engage in conversation with neurodivergent allies and self-advocates by joining a discussion group or reaching out to them through the directory. Get invited to virtual and in-person get togethers with other ZANE members.

THE RESOURCES: Members will get access to webinars, toolkits, a regular newsletter, workshops and other professional development opportunities on how to make their work environment more inclusive and meet the needs of neurodivergent audiences. 

THE VOICE: ZANE is an opportunity to join the collective voice advocating for a more inclusive and accessible zoo and aquarium community. Be part of the change you want to see by sharing ZANE’s message with your network and beyond.​​

Institutional Membership

Cost: Donations are heavily encouraged and pay-as-you-wish. You can donate here. Recommended annual donation amount- $500. Donations not only cover ZANE's operating expenses but also create capacity and resources for more initiatives and services that amplify ZANE's impact. 

Who can be an institutional member: zoos, aquariums, conservation organizations, commercial entities that work with zoos and aquariums

What being an institutional member means: Your organization promises to uphold the values of ZANE and work towards creating a more inclusive profession for everyone no matter their neuro-identity. 

Perks of Institutional Membership:

  • Logo on the website 

  • Inclusion on the ZANE mailing list 

  • Use the ZANE team as a sounding board/resource on how to navigate neurodivergent issues. For no charge, we are available to members for confidential conversations on how to best support neurodivergent individuals in the workplace. 

  • Invitations to webinar discussions, trainings and in-person events at industry conferences 

  • Access to members only share drive resources related to best practices on inclusion for neurodiversity

  • Discounts on fee-based services (in-person presentations, workshops, consulting, etc.)

  • Access to directory of self-advocates and allies to connect with

  • Testament to organization’s values of equity and inclusion

  • Symbolizes to neurodivergent individuals that you value and accept them
